January 19, 2013 - - Garnet color and aromas of cherry. It's balanced and has flavours of black currant with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - A real surprise. I expected this to hold up well but I did not expect the significant improvement. Wonderful and lush red fruits, no rough edges, a perfect smokiness. A real Southern Hemisphere winner
February 27, 2012 - this has aged rather well some nice smoke notes, dark berry some slight floral notes. Wine still shows some oak but not overbearing at all-

February 1, 2011 - This wine has come together nicely, second of two bottles consumed. I'm finding a real benefit to mid-term ageing of quality SA wines as it lets the fruits balance out some of the characteristic sharpness. Perfect with the seasoned NY Strip cooked outside in 22 deg freezing mist.
October 14, 2009 - bacon, smoke and bacon. pop and pour is almost too intense. needs to settle down with air.
October 3, 2009 - popped and tasted. smoky fruit forward, slight acidity.
February 14, 2009 - What an amazing value. I have been putting off drinking this as I had very low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. Well balanced cab, not dissimilar to California cabs at one half the price. Wish I had more.
December 2, 2008 - A very nice cab. Well balanced flavors beginning with a hint of Lavender followed by chocolate mixed in among the fruit. However the fruit and tannins were very well balanced. The finish was a bit short and thin at the end but a very good cab and unbeatable value.
Tried this with dinner... not a pairing I might think of .. a pasta with a fresh basil sauce. Wow did the tobacco and smoke come out in this wine... also a touch of heat at the end. The change was so striking I went back for more just to check :).

November 14, 2008 - The secret to this wine was time......boy how it has improved.....looking back at what I spent for this was a joke......wish I had a case I sat on....oh well.....if you still have some break it open as it is rewarding the wait.
