Community Tasting Notes 4

September 4, 2020 - Cherry and pomegranate, violet, metal, a little wood and cinnamon bark. M+ body, M+ tannin, M to M+ acid. Leans modern in style but as an entry level Nebbiolo there’s little enough oak and extraction that this still comes off relatively fresher than a modern style Barolo typically would and the oak isn’t the star. Mildly tight still and can probably go 3-5 more years and might improve for a couple, but I think fine to drink now (though I should’ve decanted). Quality is pretty good for the price at $23, though not exceptional, and there are other mid-$20 range Langhe/Alba I prefer stylistically. ~6-6.5/10

June 6, 2019 - These need a couple of hours of air to shine right now. Then they are slightly non traditional Nebbiolo but interesting and tasty. Quite mineral. The color is classic transparent red. The nose is nice with rose and tar. Definitely not fruit driven on the palate.

April 24, 2019 - Nez pas très puissant sur la mur.
En bouche, une belle concentration mure, rose, framboise. Acidité vive et bonne longueur. Un super RQP

March 6, 2019 - Perfumed and pronounced nebbiolo on the nose. Marcenasco is the monestary or the ancient name of the area. The Barbera comes from Monforte area. They do apparently make an Alba as well. In all of the wines they look for elegance and also approachable from the begining.

Low temp fermentation but long. But they want the wine round and approachable. And this is that to a T. you could drink this straight away right now. ANd preserve the fresh fruity notes. But there is still some good grip on the palate too.

100% gravity flow winery in Barolo.
