April 21, 2024 - Opened over 2hr dinner. Soft cork broke apart on opening. Wine was intact but tasted lifeless and unpleasant on opening.
After 30 min decant, the wine began to transform with black fruit dominated aromatics, and very pleasant on the palette. After 90mins, the experience was dramatically improved, and the wine continued to evolve beautifully over the next 30 mins until finished, with a rich, long complex finish that was a treat! -

October 7, 2023 - Thanks to my friend Kim who put together a flight of 95,96,97,98,99 Opus and paired with several Waygu prepared by our friend Steve. Oh What a night, spectacular food paired with an amazing Vertical that will most likely not be repeated by our group. This wine had the early lead out of the gate with the best nose and soft tannins after a two hour decant. However the 95/96 took over and pushed this baby aside. Still a great wine, just hard to choose when they are all so good. This could improve with a few more years of bottle age, or it could just be bottle variance and my pallet. Cheers

March 21, 2021 - In minute 1, it showed a bit bricked. In minute 15 the bricking blow off and a wonderful, deep wine emerged.
