February 17, 2020 - Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Beurs van Berlage / Eden Hotel): Trade tasting, brief note. Modern and a bit specious, but this works, with its crushed berry fruit, firm but well integrated tannins, freshness and minerally energy, and long (if slightly warm) and smoky finish.

January 23, 2020 - Union des Grand Cru de Bordeaux: Seattle: It's bright fruit was complimented well with its silky tannins. Very easy drinking, but this didn't stand out to me as anything overly special.

January 23, 2020 - Ripe red plums and blackberry; mineral and vanilla. Smooth round mouthfeel with fairly soft tannins, good acidity and balanced alcohol. LA UGC Tasting.

January 22, 2020 - UGC Bordeaux (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Plenty of black fruit with anise and mint as highlights. Rugged throughout with an especially tough finish for now. Good potential when it integrates and softens, provided the fruit stays bright enough.

January 20, 2020 - The nose was gorgeous, still showing some of its oak up front, yet with depths of mineral-driven, dark red berry and violet-tinged fruits, as hints of licorice, smoke, and sweet spices developed in the glass. On the palate, I found smooth, velvety textures, showcasing floral-laced red berry fruit and sweet spices, turning more tart over time, as earthy minerals and fine tannin settled onto the senses. The finish was long and structured, seeming a bit clipped by its youthful state, resonating on minerality and hints of blue-tinged fruit. The ‘17 isn’t a powerful wine, but I’m confident that as the oak resolves, it will find a wonderful balance and present a highly enjoyable experience.
