April 27, 2024 - Aerated and decanted - continued to ope up beautifully and after 2 hours was absolutely delicious!
March 17, 2024 - Brought to MD from our bro @Ian Leath for @Shine J. And family. Incredible wine, beyond impressed. So much personality and character. I can still smell and taste the prettier floral notes, opulent but structured Veeder fruit, tobacco and licorice. This was at a great stage and firing! It was tasted beside the Ovid ‘12 and I kept telling Ian and at 1/3 the price, this is competing real hard with it. A true WOW wine! I can’t wait to get more!
December 26, 2023 - A beautiful Christmas wine that was singing with a two hour decant. These O'Shaughnessy wines are so consistently good vintage after vintage and have a nice QPR given the market for Napa wines these days. The mouthfeel, energy, multi toned fruit and finish are wonderful. Really good food wine as well.
July 5, 2023 - Truly a great wine and drinking well right now. Opened and let breathe in the bottle for two hours. Was fully developed and integrated at that point. Several people at dinner were blown away by this one and took photos of the bottle for reference. A true crowd pleaser.
March 20, 2023 - Drank side by side with the 2016 Mt Veeder. This was clearly our favorite. Drinking beautifully right now. Dark fruits, integrated tannins.
December 4, 2022 - Wow. Drinking amazing right now. Glad I have another bottle left. Dark fruits and violet with well integrated tannins. A showstopper.
November 14, 2022 - This wine just keeps getting better with age. Too bad I only have one bottle left. Gorgeous aromas of black fruit and violets with crushed rocks and graphite. Complex flavors adding black licorice, dark chocolate and plums to a mineral-laced 30- second finish.
November 11, 2021 - Tasty mountain fruit with blackberry and black cherry aromas, forest floor, licorice and mocha. Well-integrated tannins with a 15-second finish.
September 20, 2021 - Still way too young. Double decanted. great potential for a few years out.
January 8, 2021 - Pepper, oak bark on the nose. Currant, blackberry, lilac, and an undercurrent of mocha. Simple tannins let the finish linger. Good for another 5-10 years. Enjoy.
