November 20, 2021 - A marvelous smoke/tobacco dusting nose with soil and more sous bois comes out readily upon opening with a still ripe, juicy feel to the fruit. Bits of leather and Beaune earth become more prominent both on the nose and palate with air time. Delicious Burg that has moved to mostly secondary and showing a bit of tertiary development right now. Classic Beaune, earthy profile with good midpalate fat to remaining fruit. 93+ Delicious right now.

September 22, 2018 - Some classic forest floor, slow and sappy; caramel and baking spices; brown sugar and a slowly emerging autumnal character. Classic old burgundy at its best. Amazing persistence.

September 22, 2018 - Lots of style and character here (plus I don't have much experience with the vintage which is why I guessed it to be older than '79). Dark earth/sous bois impressions mingled with sweet baking spice and a caramel/brown sugar "Cracker Jack" quality that keeps you coming back to nose this. Supple palate with well-integrated structure. There is plushness the aging fruit that doesn't seem at all hard. Suave and resolved at this point. Beautiful quality.
