January 1, 2022 - Earlier this year I had a bottle of La Tyre from the same vintage that was excellent and still very youthful. I had given it a decent decant and thought I would proceed the same way with this wine by opening the bottle 3 hours before dinner (no decant but OptiWine). In doing so, I didn't pay to much attention to the CT mentioning the oxydation notes, which was a mistake.

I tasted the wine 30 minutes after opening the bottle. By that time the wine had wonderful tertiary aromas that managed to overpower the oxydation in the background. The pitch-black color was also remarkable.

After 1 more hour, the oxydation notes had become dominant (both in the nose and palate) and by the time of dinner the wine was not drinkable.

I have three more bottles and will drink them PnP. I suggest you do the same.

September 4, 2021 - The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is heavy sediment in the bottle.
