January 10, 2024 - surripe, hints of prune, some brett, with a brown sugar richness on the finish. Nothing wrong here but this bottle didnt reach the heights of the '97

December 16, 2023 - Enjoyed with white truffles on pasta, another ethereal pairing. This bottle was on the back side of the slope but just barely. I don't think it will get better from here, but could be some bottle variation, of course... 30 min to blow the funk off, then tertiary notes with adequate structure, better with the pasta than by itself.

May 12, 2023 - Light fragrant bright acids. Very good dusty tannins. Good wine!

November 19, 2022 - Significant bricking with a more prominent brownish hue. Spice dominant, but leather and mint comes through. Nose continues on the palate although the spice becomes less dominant. Decent length and liked this one after having had sub-par '99 and '98

    May 24, 2021 - Vin à maturité.
Marqueurs classiques d'un Barolo évolué et classieux.

(Ceretto Barolo Bricco Roche) When I first opened a bottle of the 2000, the aromas hit me like the heat of a Texas July after an air-conditioned car. This quick blast was followed by a blossom of Mr. Lincoln’s rose. The wine was being born right in front of my nose, but it was a loud, unruly infant. A few hours later, the baby had calmed down. Today, it’s still a full-throttle Barolo, with high alcohol but not without grace from the terroir. Time will tell whether it will mature into a classic. Terroir: Bricco Rocche
