  May 13, 2010 - A little dark and dusty. Heavy with the earth tones. Probably a little past it's time. Still a tasty wine. Fruit was a bit on the dark side although it probably was on the brighter side during it's prime. Good everyday drinker.

  May 20, 2008 - Nothing special - but what do you expect for $7!!! I certainly cannot call the Rancho Zabaco offputting, and on the bright side, it was not overly alcoholic like many low end zins (under 14%). Certainly a fruit-forward zin, the problems were some sugary undertones coupled with a complete lack of acidity and balance. Would only buy again if putting together a mixed case of cheapies, as this wine could function as a crowd-pleasing sipper for an indiscriminating crowd.
