September 11, 2018 - Very good, approaching outstanding.

Clear, pale, lemon with a slight copper tinge.
Clean, medium, developing nose of lemon, ginger and honey.
Dry, medium acid, low tannins, medium alcohol (13%), medium (+) body, medium (+) intensity lemon, ginger, lanolin and honey. Medium (+) length.

Very, very good, complex, lovely balance, acid offsets the fuller body. Can drink now, and is truly delicious, but has future potential as honeyed notes develop further.

May 4, 2018 - Dinner at Chairman and Yip (Chairman and Yip, Barton, Canberra): The appearance is clear and pale gold in colour. Tears are visible.

The nose is clean with pronounced intensity aromas. There are well-defined aromas of stone fruit (apricot, subtle nectarine), oak (toast, cinnamon), citrus fruit (grapefruit), an autolytic note (subtle bread), and a generic floral character. Swirling reveals an additional note of citrus fruit (lime). The wine is youthful.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol, and medium body. The flavours have a medium(+) intensity and show notes of stone fruit (nectarine, subtle apricot), citrus fruit (grapefruit), oak (subtle toast, subtle cinnamon), and an autolytic character (creamy texture). The finish has a medium(+) length.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have an amazing balance with the alcohol and the acidity. The wine has been aged sur lie, adding an enjoyable textural dimension that complements the flavour profile. In its current state, the wine shows primary and secondary characteristics. The wine is very enjoyable and has a finish with great length.

The wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing. The fruit intensity is great, and the acid structure will support the wine as tertiary notes develop.
