Community Tasting Notes 4

    May 13, 2022 - Color: Garnet

    Nose: Candied strawberry, thyme, sage.

Palate: Fresh red fruit, ripe strawberry and raspberry.

    Body: Light and fresh.

Finish: A little tight and acidic. Fairly short finish.

Uncharacteristic of a Russian River Valley PN. Not as many vanilla or oak notes. Drinks more like a Willamette style. Needs a few years to mellow out. There are better PNs in this price range (Los Alturas / Dairyman)

September 16, 2019 - My wife LOVED it, I thought it was too acidic and hi in mineralogy, we'll try another bottle

July 30, 2019 - Clear medium ruby. Clean nose of medium plus intensity with aromas cranberry, red cherry , fennel. Youthful and simple wine. On the palate it is dry with medium acidity, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium minus body. Medium flavor intensity of cranberry, wet stone, mint. Finish is medium at best. Good wine, drink now can be aged further but I don’t think it is worth the time and space in my cellar

February 21, 2019 - Had it at a blind tasting, just from the smell I could tell it was a Pinot Noir but on the palette I immediately thought New World, Oregon Pinot but as the finish went on and took more sips the more I thought about the possibility of Burgundy. On the reveal that it was Russian River everyone at the tasting was quite surprised. The wine has great precise fruit profile and the perfect amount of structure to keep things interesting. It is drinking great today and it is not a wine for the long haul but may easily improve over the next five years.
