  April 21, 2024 - It seemed closed. Some dark fruit, graphite and earthy characteristics but everything seemed to fall off on the finish.

  June 18, 2023 - This is a high quality wine, but too young to fully enjoy at this point. I decanted for 2 hours and it was still wound up tight. This wine is brooding with lots fruit and tannic structure - a wine built for long term aging. This could be a 96+ wine someday, but still too powerful at this stage. This wine is powerful, but balanced and not over concentrated. I have 5 more bottles and can’t wait to try my next one in 7-10 years.

  April 1, 2023 - An elegant wine, silky, and easy to drink. Black fruit, blue fruit, cassis, chocolate, lite acidity, and leather, finishes smooth. A/A+ (96)

  October 15, 2022 - Ric's wine; decanted 90 min or so. Amazing flavors of cassis, black raspberry, lead pencil, cola and tobacco, with tasty black tea tannins. This was my wine of the night, and still just a baby! Drink now with air - 2037.

  July 9, 2022 - Very dark red color. PNP, split bottle with Dad and Scott at the Ranch. This was just lovely, a really fine, finessed Rubicon. The nose expresses a mix of cassis, boysenberry, black raspberry, graphite, crushed and dried violets, and fantastic spice notes. The palate is so suave and harmonious, there's the purity of fruit and the interplay of acid, spice and wood feels just right; satiny texture, with lift and focus to the dark berries, cassis and blue fruits that show layers of depth, forest floor, tart fruits, very polished tannins and a long finish. A gorgeous wine, in the window, with an even better future. 94+(+)pts.
