January 30, 2024 - Clean floral nose, very Burgundy like on the nose, would have guessed this as something from Morey St Denis as it was not as sexy as VR or CM, also not showing any dark soils like GC. Sweet and smooth on the entry, tannins partially softened but very fine tannins. Not overly complex but excellent balance and sneaky long. Spicy finish. On the plate, would have guessed this as 1er Cru Burgundy from cool vintage of a reputable producer. Not a chance I would identify this as American Pinot Noir if tasted blind. Aging very well since last bottle 6 years ago. Very good showing once again. Looks like Oregon is churning out very impressive Pinot Noir. This was such a chameleon, started out like a MSD and finished like a VR with enticing spices.

January 20, 2024 - A real mouthful! Not an aperitif wine, definitely one to serve with food. Fleshy, peppery and spicy, plummy. Saturated length. It’s quite a picture but one may not like what it paints.
Lots of upside here. Worth holding a few years for the next one. 2027?1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 6, 2023 - Tasted at the “Red Barn” tasting room with Jim Maresh. 12.8% ABV. This wine is from the vineyard right around the tasting room. It has a slightly more spicy way about it with a distinct white pepper note and then some red florals. Bright acidity, balanced and nicely textured. Fruit is again very pure due to the lack of new oak in its aging. Glorious depth of flavor as well with cherry, pomegranate, raspberry and other spice tones. Long finish. So nice!. This started out looking a little lighter than the other Pinot’s but as it got some air it noticeably gained color depth and richer, slightly more “black” fruit tones, still room to improve in the cellar.
