December 5, 2019 - Cork in stellar shape
A concentrated black cranberry color in the glass with just the beginning of bricking at the edges.
Small pour and then slow o for 8 hours before noting.
Concentrated berry and wood notes on the nose, a little alcohol presence as well.
Fleshy with medium tannins, the acid is prevalent and balances everything out on the finish. Berries, wood, and acid with a little spice on the back end of the palate.
Surprisingly, everything comes across rather distinctly, as if it is not integrated, but if it’s not at this point, I done see it ever coming together.
The acid cuts through food and adds lift, but the juice remains a bit simple and angular 13 years in. I do not really see an upside to holding longer as there just doesn’t seem to be a breadth of flavor. Drink now, or let everyone know how this goes later... -

April 6, 2017 - Pretty solid Cab, drank well right out of the bottle but didn't hold up to second day.

November 8, 2016 - Monday Night Blinds (Home (Noe st)): (blind)
Medium plus ruby.
Very faint pyrazines - stewed bell peppers. Slight Eucalyptus.
Blackcurrant - ripe. Prominent baking spice and freshly sanded wood (good % of new oak)
On the palate: ripe - slight ripeness of attack, medium plus body, elevated alcohol (14.5%), medium plus acid, high tannins.
RB Bordeaux - black fruit is too intense. Too sweet on the palate.
LB Bordeaux - too plush, too ripe, too intense black fruit.
CA Cabernet, Napa, slight development 2010. Ripe but balanced style.
Smith Madrone, Jordan, Forman. Cakebread, Grgich hills, Stags leap.
Stags' Leap Winery 2006 Cabernet 14.1%

March 30, 2015 - Nose was of slightly sweet dark berries and oak nuances. Palate was rather balanced and somewhat untypical of Napa Cabs. The slight oakiness was still quite prevalent in the wine but the fruits were not over done with only a slight jammy(ness). Overall, a rather satisfying quaffing wine but not much more than that.
