January 12, 2021 - Disappointing. First night, pnp, menthol and something that I couldn't quite place - almost like the plasticky smell you get from a brand new beach ball. Second night it had disappeared, leaving whispers of some very sweet candied cherry, no particular structure at all. Didn't enjoy it, and will have a very small quaff tonight for education's sake before moving on to something else.

May 26, 2019 - Not at all as compelling as the PIRA Langhe 2016. Nose a little weird, lilacs and oak. Just not nebbiolo. Didn't even finish the bottle last night. Revisit tonight and if any improvement I need to get back to this note.

May 19, 2019 - Not really my style of wine. Sour cherry and cranberry dominates. Rather light body and not a very long or elegant finish. It still is a good nebbiolo that has its place with the right dish or as a summer apero slightly chilled.

January 12, 2019 - First night, light flowery and herbal quality with mild red fruit- second day plenty of pure cherry, almost maraschino-like. I haven't had a lot of nebbiolo so I can't compare to others at the same price point, but this was delicious, if not very complex.

January 2, 2019 - Cranberry, bright fruits on the nose. Mouthfilling tannin, medium grained, great acid, medium length finish of red fruit.

November 19, 2018 - Here we go atruffling... (aka Piedmont... and Veneto); 11/16/2018-11/30/2018 (Alba, Guarene, Modena, Barolo, La Morra, Lake Garda .....): This is a wine meant to show what Nebbiolo is with very little intervention on it. All stainless steel tanks. This wine gets released the following year. No Runcot Riserva in '17 so that fruit all went into this wine. Here I get more sour fruits, a touch of bark, some pepper. There is something at the end of the palate (an almost sharp metallic or medicinal style note) that doesn't quite work for it. A wine that can stand up to fatty seafoods without overwhelming them.

November 19, 2018 - Grapes from the Runcot vineyard also went into this wine in this vintage. I can imagine drinking this chilled and paired with grilled eel marinated in beetroot juice.

November 8, 2018 - Light red, see-through wine. Bright red nose: bing cherry as well as a slight old world note (leather?). Very much pinot like. Flavor also has cherry, but has a thick wall of coarse tannins. Light on its feet but mouth coating that surprises.
