April 3, 2023 - Gold in the glass. The wine jumps out of the glass with ripe apricot, honey, bread crust and struck flint. Weighty and textural on the palate with a long finish which brings almonds a spiced saffron note. No reason to wait, drink now.

    WSET notes:

    Pale gold.

Pronounced on the nose with apricot, pear, bread crust, toast, struck match, honey and nuts. Developing.

Pronounced and dry on the palate with brings saffron and almond. Full body, medium acidity, medium alcohol, long finish.

Drink now. Not suitable for ageing or further ageing.

August 8, 2019 - After being open for a week this wine is rocking! Aromas of apricot, and peach pie, laced with vanilla. The fruit continues in the mouth, mingling with a distinct minerality. A fresh kick of acid slightly counteracts the mouth coating qualities of the wine. Long finish with distinct tannins.

January 26, 2019 - - Yellow color and aromas of peach and apple. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of peach and vanilla with a light body. Bright texture with a medium finish - Ready to drink now. Slight salinity on the nose. Waxy pear on the finish.

June 21, 2018 - Bottle from Vedge. Fine display of volcanic island terroir. Ungrafted vines of Gual (aka Bual in Madeira). Fermented and aged in stainless on the lees. Intensely savory, minerally, saline, but with some lovely citrus, zest and pith, with some subtle hints of ripe orchard fruit - pear and quince. Great spine of acid, a waxy mid-weight body from aging on the lees and propulsive energy to it. Reminds me of a good Etna Bianco but with more sea influence. There’s complexity lurking and it seems this will get better over time. 91++
