January 25, 2021 - This was a pleasant Monday night surprise. Rustic yet put together wine with gravel and ripe red fruit (cranberry perhaps) on the nose with a whiff of green pepper. In the mouth, it’s engaging. Bright acidity start to finish, tannins are less so. Powdered marble captured with tart cranberry. It’s like a rustic Beaujolais but bigger, with more depth and power. I am looking forward to trying it 24 hours from now - all I did was run through a Venturi into a decanter and left it only about 20 minutes. Last glass nearly 3 hours later and it seems tighter and more tannic. A wine to get your attention at a reasonable price.

December 25, 2020 - This has showed better on earlier occasions. Still good, but a bit muddled across the tongue now. Predominately earthy at this point.

July 29, 2020 - Pop and pour, consumed over 5 hours. Nose: Medium intensity, plum, cranberry, cedar, and pencil shavings. Palate: Medium-full bodied, spicy dark red and blue fruit attack, solid acidic back-bone and good mid-palate persistence, wild game, leather and earthy notes appear in the back-end. Finish: Medium length, dominated by slightly tart red and blue fruit, leather and earth. Solid effort drinking nicely now and will improve over the next 3-5 years. (90-91)

June 25, 2020 - Nice nose of mixed fruit. Initial impression was extremely positive. No barnyard or more traditional scents that I associate with Bordeaux.

Impression on the first night was less impressive than the nose had me hoping for. Not as complex or tasty (for lack of a better word). It was fine - not bold, nothing that screamed "keep drinking me". Pleasant.

Second night had more flavors coming through - more of the red fruit and definitely some pepper. I'll up date with third night as there's a glass remaining.

It's a subtle wine but perhaps too subtle for my tastes. To be fair, I opened after it completed a cross country journey so that may have impacted it.

Third Day Update - It delivers. Both my wife and I agreed it was the best glass yet. Still subtle but more complex. The pepper didn’t dominate. Feel much better now.

December 11, 2019 - This wine was a tremendous discovery, and a great value. Beautifully dominated by Cab Franc, silky and lush.

October 5, 2019 - Double decanted about two hours before consuming. The color had a brown hue to it. Dusty funk on the nose that quickly blew off leaving a nice cigar box and cassis-type notes. The palate was very dry with soft tannins, dark sweetish fruit, and good minerality. Medium finish. My friends were blown away by the price point. Great QPR.

February 2, 2019 - This is a crazy good value at $29... beats many Napa wines at 3x the cost. Opulent, modern with black fruit, tobacco and a long finish. From 115 year old old vines with pre-phylloxera rootstock
