Community Tasting Notes 10

August 5, 2022 - Pale bright lemon color
Expressive citrus note, fresh lemon zest, medium intensity on the nose.
Medium viscosity, bight acidity, dry, showing great combination of citrus, stone fruits and minerality, medium alcohol, medium finish with some leafy aftertaste.

October 10, 2021 - Light gold, light mineral notes on the nose, hardly any fruit, body and length on the palate. Well made but really nothing to talk about. Not sure what all this recent “excitement” about Aligote is about. It is a light flavoured grape with little ripeness or roundness and expresses itself as a lightly mineral tinged acidic wine. Slightly better with food but not by much.

February 18, 2020 - Medium lemon in the glass. Nose that reminds a lot of non-aromatic grapes like Pinot Gris or Chardonnay - stone fruit, bit of citrus, bit of green apple. Fairly neutral flavors on the palate as well, but the acid is sky high. Has subtle notes of lees aging and oxidation. Medium body, long finish. Tasted blind, thought it was Savagnin. What a trickster this one is, damn. Now I know what to expect from Aligote mos def.

November 6, 2019 - Primrose coloured; lemon zest, smoky, waxy; accentuated crispness, a buttery undertow; a flattering, driven finish. Now & next couple of years.
