December 24, 2020 - Pretty classic CA Pinot nose with notes of cherries, raspberries, baking spices, and pine. Good acidity with medium tannins, tart red fruit and more raspberries on the palate. Good finish. Well made wine, speaks of AV/Mendocino, but missing a bit depth at this early stage.

June 27, 2020 - After thoroughly enjoying a couple of the Halcon Syrah and one of their Petite Sirah this past year, I was excited to try one of their Pinot wines. I drank it over two days a week or so back. It was very easy on the palate at not at all taxing despite the extremely hot weather of the days. I find wine and hot climate somewhat anti-synergistic; particularly after time outdoors beneath the sun; but this was not the case here. The Pinot was not extremely expressive on the nose, but it was drinking young and a touch primary. Super well balanced with intense fruit and great natural acidity. While not the most transparent Pinot, I thought it drank like a very top-notch Anderson Valley Pinot with the cherry fruit, plum, spice and a touch of the vanilla. All and all a very enjoyable bottle, and I can't wait to try more vintages (and hopefully other bottlings) from the Halcon Pinot line-up.

May 9, 2020 - Very murky in the glass. Rustic nose of foliage. Light red fruit on the tip of the tongue, Then more complex flavors. That "cinnamon thing" that I sometimes get with PNs. Some earthiness, Quite light bodies. Very brief aftertaste.
