    March 25, 2024 - think this has 1-2 points of upside with some more age... if I can I'll try to drink most of my remaining ten btls in the 2030's or even 40's... decanted this about three hours before dinner, then drank over two hours while eating, on pnp it was dark brooding and with a true sense of oak on the palate, and a big nose for sure, with air (I wish I had given in more, will try for 6-7 hours next time) it softened a bit frankly and was elegant but a little mellow in terms of the flavors... maybe in a tiny bit of closed down state??

    January 20, 2024 - Paired with Peruvian steak. 1 hour decant (which was plenty), no sediment. Brownish red color. Nose is super expressive red fruit. Woodsy on the palate. Tannins almost non existent after the decant. Really nice showing - pretty decent QPR. Brad - heavypourwine.com

    January 12, 2024 - 스페인 와인의 어려운 이유 중 하나는 가성비이다.
    이게 무슨 말인고 하면 지나치게 가성비가 좋다보니 5만원 이하 와인도 맛있다보니 더 큰돈을 써도 거기에 비례하는 만족도를 얻기가 쉽지 않다.
    보르도나 부르고뉴는 고가 와인으로 가면 기대되는 이미지가 있는데 스페인 와인은 그런 이미지를 주지 못한다는 것이다.

    코에서는 삼나무 향이 비교적 약하긴 하지만 보르도의 와인과 결을 같이 한다.
    아마 약간의 정향같은 향신료 뉘앙스 때문일지도.
    과실향 역시 진한 편은 아니나 검은 과실, 그것도 약간 잼으로 만든 검은 과실 느낌이다.

    입에서는 탄닌도 적당, 산도도 적당, 잔당감도 적당하다.
    무엇하나 튀는 것 없이 균형이 좋다고 말할 수도 있고 개성이 없다고 말할 수도 있겠다.
    아마 와인이라면 학을 떼는 사람이 아니라면 누구든 맛있다고 할 느낌.

    이렇게 적고나니 별로라고 말하는 것 같지만 괜찮았다는 의미.
    아마 이 정도 균형잡힌 10년 정도 시간이 흐른 보르도를 마시려면 (13빈 아니라면) 훨씬 비싸지 않을까?
    다만 아쉬운 건 이 와인 이상의 스페인 와인을 궁금하게 만들지는 못했다는 점 정도.

    January 1, 2024 - From a Magnum. A perfect pairing for “bacalao a la sevillana” in New Year’s eve. Its acidity and complexity perfectly resolve the dilemma of a cod plenty of condiments.

    December 31, 2023 - OK. Maybe a bit damaged. Cork pushed up a tad. Loads of oakes, vanilla but poor on fruit, like something that should be there was missing.

    December 20, 2023 - Dark cherry and plummy fruits, tobacco and coconut oil. There is good structure, but I think we didn’t give it enough airtime to blossom. The vanilla oak is really overwhelming and shrouding nuances of the wine.

    December 1, 2023 - We were so lucky with this wine. The bottle we ordered at a wine bar ended up being out of stock so the owner apologized and asked if they could substitute this bottle for the cost of what we ordered (this bottle was twice as much). Knew right away that this was a far superior wine. Could tell from the color that this was an older wine, beautiful notes of blackberries, dried cherries and cedar that had an almost spicy edge to it along with some earth elements. Drier with some acidity and very balanced, totally delightful to drink. Will be going back and getting another bottle!

    November 26, 2023 - Nose earthy, balanced, but no fruit. On palate wood, earthy notes continue, resin, dark notes.
