July 9, 2022 - Very intense, interesting saffron note here. A bit sweet on the palate missing some acidity and tension, a bit fat compared to better Spätlesen (for example J.J. Prüm). Not sure this is gonna get much better from here on. A bit disappointing for me. 16/20

November 2, 2019 - Pale lemon-green in the glass. Splendid aromatics of green apple, quince, peach, lemon tart and some jasmine. Lightweight, medium (+) acidity with a bit too much sugar than expected, making the wine initially exciting, but ending in a sort of washy, diluted way where the acidity comes and goes.

June 7, 2019 - Got it on the cork and faintly noticed the corkiness in the wine, barely there but know how great this wine is- the character still dominated the cork, but it was flawed.

June 14, 2018 - At winery. Burnt matchstick on the nose, not very sweet for a Spatlese, very good mouthful. Pretty good here.

June 7, 2018 - [11 18] Tasted alongside Juffer-Sonnenuhr Spätlese. Helden comes across a bit cooler and more restrained with darker (and more obvious) minerality. Very vibrant and long. 92-93+
