August 27, 2022 - Beautiful light golden yellow color belies its age. Nose of white fruits, citrus and persimmon with light white flowers and spices. Light yet rich light-yellow fruits, lemon crème brulée, and citrus expand in multiple layers from midway throughout the long, rich finish. Perfect acidic balance, great mouthfeel, and amazing length. Fabulous drinking experience with long life ahead. Best moderately chilled and decanted.

February 3, 2018 - White House Dinner (Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong): Light hay gold colour. Nose of fresh-struck match, lots of minerals, lemon juice. Palate is lifted, very lemony, superb depth and multi-dimensionality. Heady and very resonant indeed. Really enjoyable but not quite as mesmerising as when I last drank it 18 months ago. That said, it definitely has a long life ahead of it as it is still rather young.

July 17, 2016 - Sunday Lunch at Friends (Their House, Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong): Lovely bright light lemony gold colour. nose is...gosh...very lifted piano notes of fresh lemon skin, spice, white shoe cream.......oh, mesmerising and already reverberent inside your head before you have taken the first sip. Palate is spice, sun-baked lemon skins, lovely integrated oak, a semi-sweetness of lemon meringue pie, a symphony of lemons..... wonderful finesses and depth....multi-dimensional and beguiling. Fantastic elegance and finesse but also with real power. Length is forever and is so resonant. Absolutely gorgeous and stayed that way all afternoon. No hint of ageing but this is so 'whole' now that I wouldn't take too many chances that it will improve. One of my 5 wines of the year so far.

February 28, 2016 - Pop and poured. Ripe and deep. A broad stroked yet deep wine with orchard fruits, broad palate presence without any clumsiness. Good acidity, great depth, and still relatively deft carrying its large frame well. A thinking and contemplative wine served in the wrong setting. Showed much better on day two.

May 19, 2011 - Lemon yellow with a tint of green. Quite open nose of apple, citrus and some burnt toast coming through as it warmed up. Oily and full bodied with good acidity. Very pleasant but a bit simple and underwhelming for a grand cru in a decent vintage. Others liked this more than I did. Approachable now but should gain some more weight with more age. No signs of prem-ox.
