July 14, 2018 - The Island Tasting (Corsica, Sardinia, & Sicily): Kermit Lynch Imports (San Diego Wine Co.): 50% Morescone & 50% Carcagholu Nero from vines ave 10 yrs of age planted in clay, limestone soils; Vinified in concrete tanks, 5 day maceration, then aged 6 mos in concrete tanks

N: Initial Brett which morphs into an attractive, BBQ sauce (with smoke) type of aroma?

P: LM, poss Med, body; RNDISHentry with NICE frt met by some puckerish astringency which transitions into a LONG, tangy finish with a hint of swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. Deserves another 6 mos or so, then drinking for the ff 2-3 yrs. Fairly elegantly done. 12.5% ABV; My VG+/EXC-. [This vendor's $25.99 is $9 < the price directly from Kermit Lynch.]

May 31, 2018 - Monthly Tasting at Wine Wizards (Wine Wizards Stockton): Okay at $35 a bottle and marketed as a Vin de France Rouge you expect maybe a "Super Corsican" experimental wine and maybe that was the intent but it fell somewhat flat for me. KL described it a a Corsican "beaujolais" but it was herbal and weedy rather than fruit, drinkable but confusing. I guess it takes a lot of Gaul to make a $35 Vin de France.

Actually there appears to be the usual mark up by KL. This wine is sell in EU for 23 Euro ($27). The "Super Corsican" is because of the usual laws that hamper change.
