September 4, 2022 - Consistent with previous bottle. A little additional age actually smoothed out the acid a bit and the fruit popped a little more as a result.

May 29, 2019 - Reminds me of Grenache with some notes of fruit and spice. Appears to be a well made wine, but doesn’t really stand out otherwise.

March 24, 2019 - A light bodied, high acid, high toned red from California? Sounds good to me............

January 21, 2019 - Lots of bright red fruit up front with a hint of baking spice and black pepper. Cherries, pomegranate, a little cranberry, nutmeg, clove. Medium acid, low-medium tannin. Very interesting, kind of what I imagine a cross between Beaujolais and Chateauneuf du Pape would be. Curious as to how this is going to change with time.

January 5, 2019 - Crunchy red fruited on the nose, gamay and trousseau like. A bit green and astringent on the palate. Oddly low in acidity for a wine that seems underripe which in turn seems to take the fresh juicy nose of this wine and dull the overall sensation. Not a fan at all, what to do with these remaining bottles?

January 3, 2019 - I really want to love the wines from Viticole, but, unfortunately, I have only enjoyed one of the four I have received. This was thin and far too fruit with a bit of a weird minerally note. So far I have only enjoyed the white wine I have tried from Viticole. Perhaps I need to sit the red wines longer?

December 5, 2018 - I think the two previous notes on this wine have it nailed. The aromatic and flavor profile definitely comes across like a blend of syrah and nebbiolo. Quite peppery, no tannins to speak of, pretty good acidity. Very interesting, and I kind of like it. Only my second experience with Pfeffer, the last one being about 33 years ago, and I don't remember much about it (I believe it was Jekel Vineyards).

December 1, 2018 - notes of pepper, green pepper, tar, cherry, and maybe clay on the nose.
medium bodied, moderately acidic, silky, and a bit spicy. fresh one, this is.
ripe red fruit, fresh squeezed peach, and hints of chocolate flavors. fine tannin. somewhat of a chameleon. shows some nebbiolo, syrah, and cabernet franc qualities.
just read below- hilarious. it's like this dude stole my note!

November 26, 2018 - Beautiful wine. Hard to really compare it to anything — some mix of young nebbiolo, syrah and gamay. Great but light fruit and a nice amount of spice that makes this really food friendly. Soft mouthfeel and a finishing bitterness that gives it just enough bite. Really interesting and would buy more if I could. Probably will age well but hard to resist drinking it now — everything is there.
