July 12, 2015 - As it should be -- and still not old, imo. Ripe, but not overripe, remarkably balanced, good fruit and acid still. Tannins strong, not fully integrated yet, surprisingly enough. Dark fruits, roast meat, intense without being overdone.

June 28, 2015 - Hardly any nose on this, bit more structure and tannins, or maybe just rustic, than the Pegau CdP.

July 30, 2014 - This really is getting better (if my memory/taste buds serve me well)! Just a bit of funk on P&P, then lush, dark fruit on the nose and palate, with a medium to long finish. Very pleasant with flat bread crackers and some great triple cream French cheese.

January 6, 2014 - Worth every penny. Was fantastic with a peppered marinated pork loin. with asparagus/mushroom side dish.

October 5, 2013 - Nose of fall leaves, forest floor, a bit of pepper or cedar. Palate tasted of refined dark fruit - plum. Medium weight, medium finish. Fairly balanced acids and tannins, maybe a little flabby but not much and kind of what I expect in a Rhone anyway. 2nd half of the bottle, after spending the night Vacu-Vin'ed at room temp overnight was smoother and more integrated.

(LES VERRIERES DE MONTAGNAC CLOS DES SOUTYERES COTEAUX DU LANGUEDOC) #1; COLOR-real dark; NOSE-broken Snow Globe??, a cool Sea breeze, minty fresh aspect, hints of Twix (caramel & chocolate); TASTE-Wow this is Killing, better than many $30 Syrah's, Bringing the thunder, great mix of Old & New World, very drinkable, but nice tannin structure (will easily last 10-15 years), elegance, reminds me of Tensley's, but more refined; a great combo of Tensley's (Ep #141) & Chat Ferriere (Ep #206) , Exceptional effort, Shockingly Spectacular; one of WLTV's best QPR's ever!!; WS-91; GV-93+
