May 6, 2022 - Decanted briefly. Gorgeous wine with the gritty earth you find in the best 2015s and the heightened acid Morlet does so well. The palate is full and delicately balanced with some extra coffee notes above the red and black currants. Super delicious and room for improvement with more time.
February 23, 2022 - This delicious wine from To Kalon heritage vineyard has room to improve. Maybe another 10-15 years. All the reviewer were elequent in there discriptions. Try it🍷
November 27, 2021 - 4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag: Double blind. Dark inky color with aromas of herbs and black fruit. Full-bodied and quite tannic; firm bordering on austere. Black fruit and chocolate flavors with a long finish. Needs time. 92+ pts, with plenty of upside at peak. (M&R)
February 12, 2021 - Classic Napa valley floor Cabernet. Black currant, black cherry, dark chocolate, marzipan, fig, tobacco, vanilla, and cedar. Rich, complex, but not overdone. Pretty much as good as California gets. Could use a bit more lift and savory elements to balance out the richness.
January 10, 2021 - Getting to interesting, but still pretty ripe and one note. Hopefully some of the oak recedes more over the next couple of years.
September 4, 2019 - Pop and pour. This seems to be Morlet's most accessible cuvee for drinking young so I decided to pop one over dinner. At first, sweet fruit over full body, then the powdered sugar faded and it was all silky To-Kalon fruit with firm structure supporting it. Just a well-made, modern Oakville Cab with a touch more acid than most. Delicious.
