December 31, 2023 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum. Was a nice smooth wine served with lamb. Aired for 1.5 hours before.

March 4, 2022 - Yeah, I’m not getting this premium Equinoxe Syrah product. This needed at least one hour decant to blow off the alcohol heat and stale reduction. There was a slight metallic element to the palate that persisted through a couple of glasses. The vintage rocked, the fruit had to be great quality, what happened in the winery? The ‘15 Cuvée Classique is head & shoulders above this. I may have had a bad batch of bottles.

May 20, 2021 - Deep dark shade of ruby with high optical density and very high specular reflectivity. Strong intensity of aromas, with a mix of ripe red and black fruits (raspberry, black cherry, and blueberry skins and plum) and a smoky and spicy earthy lift. Some garrigue and forest floor, with a savoury twist of saline and black pepper on the back end. Nice complexity.

On the palate, a rich full body and fresh acidity with a firm and present but medium intensity of tannins that are polished. Texturally rounded and plush but without any sappy character- still pretty juicy overall but certainly some decent transparent concentration. A mouthfeel with a clean and elegant profile.

Flavours of tart cherry, red plum, and blueberry on the attack, with a liquorice character building. Vivid and explosive fruit here, almost flashy. More earthy notes add on toward midpalate, with some floral and toffee notes coming in. Very strong intensity over the midpalate. The final transition shows a savoury saline note with a crescendo of spices (black pepper and toasty oak spices), with a long finish of brackish smoked berry skins and savoury candied cherry infused roasted mushroom (lol-apologies for that progression, it's what came to mind!). Very interesting complexity and evolution with nice length and big intensity while still remaining overall an elegant and transparent profile.

This is really great- balanced perfectly and delicious and fun to drink. Lovely depth and reflects a young-drinking wine to me. Still some development ahead.

December 24, 2019 - Was good with pot roast, but would have been better with a fine steak. Wow!
