March 27, 2024 - 14% alkohol. Vinmarkblanding med Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Beurot, Muscat og Chasselas fra Cru Schoffweg i Bergheim med østvendt eksponering og sterke vinder. Plantet i 1997. Jordsmonn av sandholdig leire over gul kalkstein. Samplantet og samhøstet. Spontanfermentert i miks av tank og fat. Modnet to vintre.
Fet og oljete, aromatisk og kompleks med fersk gul frukt, rik sitronkrem, florale toner og forførende honningvoks. Frisk, lang syre som virker lovende for fremtiden.

November 29, 2023 - Not entirely sure of the blend as Deiss does not record this on his “com plantation” wines, but taste and bouquet more like a Pinot than a Riesling.

November 10, 2023 - The idiosyncratic winegrower Marcel Deiss is a bit of an outsider in Alsace as he believes that assemblages of grape varieties express the “terroir” better than monocepage wines. I place terroir in quotes, not because I deny the existence of it but because the concept is often mystified. What is important for me is whether the wine is tasty, regardless of any other vague philosophy of terroir and other related hazy concepts.
This wine is a blend of Riesling with various Pinots and a tiny bit of Muscat and Chasselas. The 2017 is bone-dry, ideal for tasters who don’t like residual sugar (like my partner), the bouquet is somewhat restrained and the taste is quite complex with the Riesling boosted and softened by the Pinots, bracing acidity without austerity and a fairly long finish. This wine will probably benefit from a few years of cellaring.

November 26, 2022 - Clear, very dry wine, chalky nose, austere juice. Good but very strict.
