November 15, 2023 - Chambord, marionberry, anise, sweet tobacco, menthol and charcoal. Wonderful mouthfeel, more reminiscent of the concentrated '15's than the velvety '16's. Special wine

September 6, 2023 - I always enthusiastically look forward to popping a bottle of Regusci - I don’t have many opportunities to follow TRB into Stags Leap District. We tasted this side by side with the 2019 in celebration of a good friend’s 60th birthday. This version was quite the wild ride. I gave it 3 hours slow ox, but the first sips upon opening was intense, explosive black and red fruits, too much so. This never really settled down on day one, and actually faded quite quickly in the glass over an hour or two. I would have sworn I was drinking a young, Calistoga cab. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed, as I was looking forward to the typical savory and mineral driven style of a stags leap red.
Anyhow, I recorked the last third of the bottle, and threw it in the car for the eight hour drive home, from Maine to Philly.
Day two, this wine had totally transformed itself. The fruit settled, the acidity ramped up and the mineral driven finish went on and on.terrific balance, rich purity of red and black fruits, baking spice, hint of cedar.
93 on day one, 95 day two. I would give another bottle 2-3 years

January 21, 2023 - Well balanced and easy to drink. Yet still carries enough complexity to be interesting.

September 9, 2022 - Pop and pour. Enjoyed in a Grassl Liberte.
    Dark puirple color.
    Nose offers rich dark cherries,

and plum. Some woodsy notes as well as a hint of wood smoke.
rich and dark fruited on the intro; some licorice and tobacco notes gives an accent to the fruit. Good acidity to keep the rich fruit in check.
    Enjoyable.
