May 5, 2019 - Neighborhood Kentucky Derby party

Once again awesome value modern Napa Chardonnay. Mostly fruit forward, oak driven and well balanced.

April 29, 2019 - Still a favorite value wine. Well balanced, a little bit of peachy sweetness, moderate butter.

April 8, 2019 - An awesome value modern Napa Chardonnay. Are there shortcomings? .... yes but these are expected for a wine at this price point. I like this wine but it is just good, and not great. The price makes this wine near the top of my QPR for a white this year.

The wine feels slightly high in sugar, overly woody and quite acidic. For many this would be judged as a savory wine for a white and I would add .... hard to dislike.

March 21, 2019 - Too sweet and oaky for my taste, but that’s just me.

December 22, 2018 - Taste New Wines, Part 1 (San Diego Wine Co.): TOO cold

    "100% barrel fermented, 100% malolactic, 7 mos in 80% AM/20% FR oak;" 14.5% ABV, 0.85 g/ml R.S., 0.60 g/ml T.A., & 3.58 pH.

N: Nascent butter & toast with notes of apples, poss spice

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish OAK/frt (threshold R.S.?) nicely counterbalanced by a crisp acidity which directs the flow into the LONG, tangy/swt finish with OCCASIONAL *glimpses* of a very, VERY slight bitterness which I suspect will increase down the line. For now & into '20. My VG+, though one could make a case for more based upon the QPR of this vendor's $11.99, which puts it in the top 1/2 of wine-searcher's listings.

Note: As they did with their '16, I *STRONGLY* praise this producer for admitting they use mostly AM oak & leave R.S.! Would that their colleagues were AS honest.
