February 8, 2019 - Sweet and long, dark in color with very little browning. This still has plenty of life ahead of it and honestly I would not open another bottle for 5 years or more.

February 1, 2019 - Still a lovely wine and perhaps at peak right now. Dark red in color with no fading at the edges. The nose has ripe plums and cherry. Lush fruit on the palate (but not cloying or overdone). Black cherries, currants, smoke, leather. Beautifully resolved tannins, nice acidity, everything in balance and working together to create something that is greater than the sum of the individual parts. Long, graceful finish of dark fruits and a bit of pepper. Great right now and for at least the next 5 years. 68% of the fruit comes from Sonoma and 32% from Napa.

August 18, 2018 - Decanted and drank over three hours. This has firm, chewy tannins, lots of oddly oaky alcohol, and some deep dark fruit but it lacks concentration. I'm not sure time will help this wine.

May 27, 2018 - Yes, a friend brought this to our casual "BBQ", with burgers and grilled chicken. So... no notes, but at least we didn't drink it from solo cups! Velvety perfectly integrated fine tannins, fully ripe but, round, not flabby, great with or without food, but showed its stuff best on its own.

April 22, 2018 - Beautifully integrated tannins with bright fruit and a complexity I find interesting. Tanzer's notes are curious following his original 94 rating. I find this ready and not much improvement expected. Drink.
