October 15, 2020 - Heavily volcanic, certainly reminiscent of Sicilian wine where they have a similar geographic setup. A little stinky, but I think it disperses quickly enough, leaving the volcanic minerality as the dominant note. Would go well with lamb etc.

September 6, 2020 - Barnyard scents on open, gave it some time and air though the scent never quite went away. Tastes of cherry and black pepper.

April 17, 2020 - Had this for the fourth time and I think I know more now what to do with it: it's reductive upon opening, and needs air. If it's not reduced, then it's something else that causes it to be pretty stinky at first. There's no sparkle, so I doubt its trapped CO2. I don't know, but it does well with some good swirling. It also does way better on flower or fruit days. When right, it's a lovely, darkly fruited, very mineral and volcanically dark, well balanced and food friendly wine. It's not going to blow you away with complexity or anything else. It's a delicious wine that expresses a sense of place.
