February 13, 2024 - A bit softer and less acidic than expected, but still brilliant in its lightness and minerality. It will be interesting to follow how this wine continues to age over the coming years.

August 26, 2023 - Minerality, acidity, crisp, multi-dimensional, stone fruit, yes, matchstick. I try and try other Chardonnays and often lose interest but almost never with Marcus's and especially the Richard's. Excellent.

Pop and pour. Drunk over two nights.
Flinty on the nose with jasmine, chalk, lemon curd and citrus pith. Midweighted and finely detailed with a degree of intensity without weight. Lithe and graceful yet deep. A lovely understated wine that is still holding a little tight to the vest. Quite long

Day 2 this has gained a little depth, has more of a sense of minerality, with asian pear adding to the previous citrus dominated fruit notes. It's toothsome and intense yet with a sense of softness and grace. Finishes long yet simultaneously mouthwateringly fresh. Lovely

November 14, 2022 - Lime, reductive notes, light weight but lively acidity. More lemon and sea shell on the palate. Marcus’ Chardonnay is always superb.

February 22, 2022 - Little reductive on opening with stone, citrus pith, lemon curd, and jasmine. It's pretty tight on day one and opens up overnight. It's light to mid weighted, fresh and lithe yet detailed and deep. That said there is quiet intensity and substance here. More lemon pith, florals, and stone on the palate. This is a soil, floral, and acid driven wine with a gossamer texture conveying intensity without weight. I will hold my remaining bottles for a couple years and revisit. 92++

January 3, 2021 - Tasty, tasty, tasty. Not unduly noteworthy on the nose, but man, does it go down easily ;^)

You get a hint of sea shell and lemon on the nose as it warms up in the glass, and then crisp and lively on the palate, with nice carry right through the finish. Not sure what Marcus might say, but for current consumption, this might be my favorite vintage for the Richard’s.

December 11, 2020 - Good, solid, food friendly Chard. Reductive at fIrst. Needed air. Better at 55 or so than cold. Drinking well. No rush to drink it but I question it will improve much.

October 11, 2020 - Last bottle. This is nice and light, but the fruit has faded a bit. Not sure how long this will age - for my tastes, this is in the zone and but I would drink up over the next few years.
