January 26, 2021 - Cloudy ruby purple, so clearly not filtered. The nose is immediately expressive with ripe blackberry and blueberry. There’s a bit of baking spice and savory jerky notes. The palate is smooth with just enough freshness and minerality to give an edge to the fruit. A touch of pepper. This is quite true to the varietal in a fresh ripe way without going over the top with alcohol, extraction or oak. By the third day, it was even more integrated and still going strong. An excellent wine. Ready to drink now. More Rhone in style. Probably my favorite Syrah I’ve tasted in Chile.
