Community Tasting Notes 8

February 27, 2024 - Improved greatly since last bottle. Given an hour decant this is starting to really sing. Amazing nose of greengages and green pepper but not green on the palate. Now and next three year.

October 7, 2022 - Very restrained on opening, and took an hour to start to fill out, revealing a light expression of cab franc. Hopeful this will develop more- it certainly has the acidity and tannins to suggest a long life and some upside. Will revisit in a year.

June 5, 2022 - Developing nicely, plenty of blackcurrant fruit with a mineral side to it, still a little more to come with time I suspect

August 9, 2020 - Lovely green leaf and black currant nose, the palate isn’t quite at the same level. The tannins are a little drying right now, good wine but we need to see how this develops

  • Rob-Rah Does not like this wine: 84 points

February 6, 2019 - Nah - this is watery, pinched and tedious, masquerading as a certain style. The Chinon-esque style relies on the wines actually possessing character and purpose inside them. This is berryish, bright, acidic, primary fruit with not much interest. Contrived and boring. Bleh. Was Rachel Hemming (17.5+) on JancisRobinson.com a tiny bit sozzled by the time she tasted it? Avoid at almost £30 GBP. 84-85 ?
