April 2, 2022 - Festa del Piemonte: Master Class & Lunch (The Pool/Grill): Light and elegant and beautiful. Very fresh. Darker fruits. The last wine before lunch and at this point most of us were hungry but it was an enjoyable one.

December 2, 2021 - Return to Piemonte!; 11/25/2021-12/4/2021 (Castello di Sinio, Alba, other various locations): Darker and bigger fruited than the blend barolo. This is lots of spice. Tannin is very drying. There’s a hint of floral notes. It’s much too young and yet there’s something that makes me feel like the wine is drinking really well and could be enjoyed now if needed (although if we had bottles I’d wait).

August 20, 2021 - Super pure. Tight but delineated. Dense cherry fruit with a touch of mint. Rich, stony and long.

July 22, 2021 - The '17 Rocche is a stunning young Barolo. The nose was intensely perfumed and very floral and spicy, with dried red roses, ripe red berry fruit, exotic and sweet spices, fresh herbs, orange peel, and mint. It is a complex, somewhat wild expression of Nebbiolo, hard to pin down. The aromatics are clearly ripe and lighter in tone than the 2016, but vibrant nonetheless. On the palate, the Rocche is mid-weight in texture and vibrant, showing more depth and concentration than many of the '17s I've tasted to date. I found rich, ripe berry fruit, exotic spices, citrus peel, and on the finish, minerals, red and blue floral tones, and exotic spices lingered. The tannins are finely textured, although they are far more noticeable than on the '16 and come across as slightly grainier.
While the '17 Rocche is a bit lighter (in flavor profile and texture/concentration level) and less finessed than the epic '16, it's a very exciting wine in its own right. This is the best '17 I've tasted thus far, showing the most intriguing flavor profile and the most concentration.4 people found this helpful Comment -

August 14, 2020 - Similar cherry and meat notes to the ’18 but with more grip. It is quite stony just below the flesh. Should be really good.
