March 4, 2023 - Northern Rhone-a-thon: This pours medium garnet. The nose is lifted and mature. Beautiful. Aromas are of liquid smoke, dried violets, dried blueberry, burnt dried orange peel, sweet old cedar, and matsutake mushroom. Just beautiful and mature. The palate is meaty and smoky with dried red and blueberry fruit, mineral, meat, orange peel, and a touch of cedar that lingers nicely on the lovely finish. What a lovely wine and a great showing.

September 6, 2022 - Commanderie des Costes du Rhone - Fall 2022 Kick-off (Claud): Always some very fun wines at the end of the evening and this was no different. Good almost briney style dried meats and a hint of black fruit and drinking pretty well.

September 2, 2022 - This pours medium ruby with moderate bricking. The nose begins a tad clamped down but gradually unfurls to show a very expressive and flashy style. Aromas are of smoked meat, pepper, gobs of dried blueberries, brown sugar, and twiggy undergrowth. The palate has medium minus tannin, medium acid and a lovely finish driven on the same elements of the nose.
