September 25, 2022 - I've been drinking a glass a week over the last 5 weeks, to see how it develops, so here's the list:

Right after opening it's very harsh. Acohol is extreme and does not feel very balanced.

    Week 2:
Still some strong alcohol, more fruits shows up, like raisin and prunes.

    Week 3:
Getting better, more settled and balanced. Fruiter (same notes) a little oak and chocolate.

    Week 4:
Rich mouthfull, getting softer. Oak and chocolate comes along very fine. A very dense feeling of spices that hasn't really seemed to fade away over the last weeks. So it feels more powerful than the 10 year tawny.

    Week 5:

So... 5 weeks after opening the bottle for the first time.
    The nose:
Caramel, sirup, milk chocolate, oak. Not much fruit on the nose.

    The palate:
Chocolate, burnt oak, caramel. Raisin, Prunes and Plum comes very secondary.
Little acidity, little alcohol and that has almost faded away.
    Full body, silky, pleasant.

Overall the fruit isn't very big on this, as the 10 year tawny, it's more secondary notes that i get here. That makes sense when it's 10 years older.

For having that silky, full body and little alcohol experience, i would recommend to decant this at least 3-4 hours before serving - and have it in the fridge many hours before decanting it.

Very good quality on this one

    So to compare:
    - Buy the 10 year tawny if you want a fruit forward port with a shadow of secondary notes, a medium body and quite sugary.
    - Buy the 20 year tawny if you want fruits to be secondary and the primary notes to be chocolate, oak, vanilla, caramel and sirup, with a full body and silky texture.

I'm 94 on this one - just be sure to decant it, for the very full experience.

February 16, 2019 - Robe brun-cerise évolué. Beaucoup de tabac en bouche avec des arômes de noix, datte, caramel et sirop. Long en bouche. Assez décevant pour un tawny 20ans, on s’attendrait à plus.

February 3, 2015 - Its aroma is intense and complex, with notes of cinnamon, ginger, cedar, and plum. Tawny hue with orange-like hints. In the mouth, its fine structure and the balance between sugars and tannins stand out. The finish is delicate and lingering, with good harmony of flavors.

January 11, 2013 - Omg! Bouquet is heaven. Taste is even better. Triple yum. Especially with caramel cheesecake!
