July 19, 2019 - Stewart NOMAD Tasting (Yountville): Rich nose of black cherry, blackberries, cedar, hints of tobacco and quite a lot of herbal character. Of the 2016 Nomad lineup, this is the most seamless and ready to drink at the moment. Medium to full bodied blue and red fruit show off impressive purity with fine tannin management and an elegant mouthfeel. Great stone driven and mineral qualities. Again, a bit more acid here than on some others from this site, but quite a nice structure and solid finish.

December 28, 2018 - Aromas of red meat and iron. Fine tannins that envelope the tongue. Dark fruit flavors with cassis and a hint of kirsch and red fruit on the finish. Lovely wine.

September 16, 2018 - I recently had the privilege of tasting through all of Stewart's 2016 Nomad collection; from each of the Beckstoffer Heritage Vineyards. I plan to do a challenge; two at a time, pronounce the winner from each taste off and then crown the jewel in the future. 1st up: Beckstoffer Bourn from St. Helena v. Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper from Oakville. In this tasting, there was no contest as Stewart's Bourn Vineyard was off the charts great. MH needs a little bit of time. I have only had wine from Kata, which is David Beckstoffer and Benoit Touquette's collaboration. Stewart Nomad Bourn clearly competes with the Kata offering. Whereas Kata is a blend of primarily Cab and some Petite Sirah, Stewart's Nomad is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

    Stewart Nomad Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard:
Rivaling Benoit's masterpieces from Bourn. Dark, rich and brooding. Full bodied but not too heavy. Lots on mineral, chocolate dark fruits. Strong and long finish. A great sneak peek from what Bourn has to offer and what other Vintners will be releasing over the next couple of years as more producers sign up for this signature heritage obscure vineyard from Andy Beckstoffer. Great job and kudo's to Blair Guthrie, Stewart's winemaker.
