Community Tasting Notes 8

August 28, 2019 - Black cherry liquor, menthol, leather and hung game are the focus here. Complex and changing with air. Rosemary. Tannins are refined and holding a bit more in reserve. A touch of subtle warmth - could use some acidic lift. Enjoyable nevertheless.

    Very Good - 87 - hold 2022

September 30, 2016 - A little brett to start that blows off to revel fruit earth & leather. Lush dark fruit like plums on the palette kept in tune by earthiness & a fair bit of acid. A hint of meatiness on the mid palette. A wonderful wine given the challenging 11' Vintage. I plan to cellar a couple. Curious to see what happens when the tannins fall off.

November 22, 2015 - Plush, ripe and full; medium-plus acidity; ample tannins; ripe for cellaring.

October 16, 2015 - Still tannic still young but light, approachable, fruity, and delightful. On the nose you get hit with a bouquet of ripe fruit (rich grape, strawberry, and licorice). On the palate you get the youthfulness and tannins; however you also get structure and alcohol. Tobacco, cherry, and a lovely spice dominate the palate. Great wine for the price. Cellar this bad boy and get rewarded in two or three years. Pair with alfredo pasta, seafood, chicken, thai, or other light protein meals.

July 18, 2015 - Very nice wine. Deep multi layered. Savory, fruity, leather and mushroom. Enough acid for food or simply on its own. Showed well against wines three times it's price.
