October 16, 2021 - Deep garnet. Young Cali Pinots taste like cab want to be’s to me, mostly. But at 16 years nose and taste were wonderful. Reminds me of a Leroy Corton. Taste went on and on. The Cali cab sense has gone. Just as good day 2
July 28, 2018 - Last bottle... and still very impressive. Similar notes as before, lots of fruit, raspberries, cherries, currants, spice, and floral. Nice complexity and a long finish
May 31, 2018 - PnP at Il Pastaio. Excellent again. Cork came out in pieces but Wine was in great shape. Could smell it from 2 feet away. Lush pinot. In a great spot.
January 14, 2018 - Last opened in 2014, but surprisingly similar notes, other than color intensity. Not getting any better, but definitely holding up well. Impressive!
October 18, 2017 - Drank at the Shapiro's house. Consistently solid.
May 8, 2016 - PnP on Mother's Day. This is the second bottle I've had of this and once again it is excellent. The aromatics hit you instantaneously with pulling the cork. Flowers and rich spices jump out of the glass and scream taste me. On the palate this is a very rich and deep Pinot but it's very balanced. Rose, cherry, spice dominate. Secondary of earth and cedar and even a hint of pistachio(?). Point being this is a delicious and complex wine that disappears from the glass too fast. This seems to be fully mature but it does not seem on the decline. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and get at least one more bottle if not more. Aubert = The reason I drink wine.
February 20, 2016 - In a nice place. Some secondary character, but not a lot. Age has improved by mellowing and revealing good balance. red fruit, a little bit of zip to it.
February 14, 2016 - Enjoyed with my wife at a Valentine's Day dinner. Simply a wonderful wine from a stellar year for pinot. No notes - just enjoyed.
May 25, 2015 - This is just a fantastic pinot. Deep fruit on the nose with rose petals and spices. Deep cherry and spices on the palate. Clove and cinnamon with nice earth. Everything in perfectly mature balance. Delicious all the way through. Wish I had another bottle. As nice as the 2007.
