August 22, 2021 - Needs time to open. Dominant tobacco and raisin notes. Still has some tannins, but overall, very approachable after about an hour being open.
May 21, 2021 - Still has some life left, but running out of time. Raisin and leather dominant the profile.
May 27, 2020 - Such a stunning and unexpectedly good wine. Half-bottle after half-bottle continues to impress, even at this age! Gave 10-15 minutes to open up, then dove in. Prevalent raisin and slightly earthy upfront, giving way to robust (and delicious) blue fruits and blueberry pie. So happy with this wine.
November 12, 2018 - What a pleasant surprise to have so much sweet red fruit left in this wine, with some nice tertiary flavors at the back end to round out the flavor profile.
August 27, 2016 - I'm a big fan of mature wine and this drank beautifully. It had just enough of everything left to be a real tasty drop.
November 22, 2014 - California treasures in an unexpected place (Fulda): From magnum. Fantastic nose of leather, underwood. Light on its feet but very elegant with some cedar, malt, herbs. Pretty cool.
September 5, 2014 - Seattle Offline IV - Italian Wines (Henry's House (Seattle)): Some earthiness left on the nose. Silky, with some traces of fruit. Tannins fully resolved, but plenty of acid left to light up the palette. Sweet macerated cherry, somewhat sappy; good weight for its age.
September 5, 2014 - This was a very nice bottle - lots of mushroom, forest floor, but still some fruit and tannins that kept it very firm. Brought to the CT Italian tasting within the extra "support Napa" category. No formal notes, but everyone seemed to enjoy it.
July 6, 2014 - 7/14 Decent balance - very drinkable. 88 pts.
July 5, 2014 - From Gary. A night cap in the waning hours that proved surprisingly enjoyable. Not profound but a fully resolved Cabernet in a real nice place. Tasty fruit hanging on well bolstered by mature notes.
