April 20, 2021 - PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale ruby to the eyes.

Very much like an etna in the first pour but gaining a lot more fruit notes in glass and move towards barbaresco. Freshly poured this is really a bit like an etna here.

93 points now but will need a lot more time in cellar.

November 24, 2019 - Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): From the wine list at More et Macine. Our friends were already Roagna fans, so immediately their eyes went to this. My husband and I were soon covered to their way of thinking. Surprisingly open for a '13 - this had a pretty bouquet of red fruit and tobacco. On the palate I found it juicy, dark red fruited profile with layered earth and herbs. Complex - should only improve from here - happy to buy another bottle to take home.

November 24, 2019 - Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Never seen this vineyard with this producer but I imagine it has to be a newer one and of course it's all small production. Rounder, more fruit (mostly sour red), it's got just the background of the minerals. Elegant. Not quite as good as the brother one we tried alongside and yet I liked this a ton.

November 20, 2018 - We had Paje 2013 side by side. Personally, I prefer Paje more. Both wines presented pretty red fruits , nice acidity and smooth tannin, but I felt Paje was more expressive while Faset showed modest greenness on the finish. Will be interesting to see how this project evolves next few years. Roagna started the Faset cooperation project with the owner of this historic vineyard in Barbaresco. 2013 was their first year of production

Flott vin. 93 poeng.
