September 8, 2023 - From a magnum, this seemed a much better showing than a 2015 magnum a year ago. Robust Rhone-like character, brooding dark fruit, slight earthiness. This just hit 90 for me.

November 23, 2022 - After 30 minutes of decanting all of the sharp acidity rounded out & it is like a baby CdP. Great value wine.

August 1, 2022 - Medium bodied GSM and Cinsault blend. Tart dark cherry, red currant and plum fruit on the palate with a touch of beef bullion. Slightly grippy, tart finish. More fruit and less earthy/savory compared to the 2015 vintage.

April 5, 2022 - This medium garnet blend of 41% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 14% Cinsault, bottled under screwcap, requires at least an hour in decanter in order to minimize a potent animal component that I presume is attributable to the Mourvèdre. That said, it ultimately offers aromas and fresh flavors of boysenberries, ripe plums, smoked meat and lavender. Medium-bodied, softly tannic, proportionately oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it retains good density in the middle. Although lengthy, the finish concludes with the plums turning into prunes. While there is a lot to like about this modestly-priced Châteauneuf wannabe, it will never be confused with anything produced from the motherland in 2016. Drink now-2026.

November 9, 2021 - Very nice full bodied Le Cigare Volant. Tastes of beef bullion, burnt cherries, with black pepper notes. Very quaff-worthy with red meats or game.

October 13, 2021 - Enticing notes of dried flowers, dried herbs, cranberries, vanilla, and a touch of strawberry/cherry. Medium bodied; mouth filling but not over-powering. Would make a great pairing with a braised lamb shank.
