Community Tasting Notes 5

September 5, 2020 - Check in on the Wine China leaderboard, tasted blind (Singapore): 60/40 Cab/Merlot. Garnet color with brown hue. Typical nose of CabSav from Chile with generous oak. On the palate not unpleasant but very fore-square commercial. Almost feels off-dry, a theme that we saw in many wines tonight. Apparently that is on purpose to suit the local taste who does not like the wines to be too austere. Also oak is associated with quality, hence the generous application of it. Decent wine but nothing to write home about. 87+

August 31, 2020 - Singapore Chinese wine tasting with wineandco on a random Sunday evening. 60% cab Sauvignon and 40% merlot. Deep ruby Color. Sweet plums and cherry, a bit of subtle smoke, you smell this has been exposed to the sun extensively. Med+ acidity, full body, high alcohol, Med flavor intensity, Med+ tannins, Med finish. Dark and Cherry fruit, eucalyptus, capsicum, quite some oak and smoke, not integrated, alcohol quite overpowering, lacking balance. Might improve over time.

February 20, 2020 - Praelum TITs - China (Praelum Wine Bistro): Medium ruby. Aromas of ripe cranberry and cherry, with some svoury spices and a bit of caramel. A good flavour intensity, boosted with juicy tannins and acids, and with red cherry and plum flavours, with some coffee and cocoa towards the back. A good wine that finished long

September 1, 2019 - SAS - The Grape Escape (Four Points by Sheraton Singapore): An initial intense hit of cassis and raisins, which later mellows down to roses and spices, as well as fern and vanillin. Quite enjoyable
