July 17, 2023 - Chocolate and dried cherry in the nose, this came off a bit flabby with not quite oxidized purple fruit, leather and drying tannins in the palate. Time to drink.

January 2, 2023 - Kirsch-style fruit with lots of spices and earthiness. The tannins seems very unbalanced compared to the fruit and the alcohol dominates a bit too much.
It is a nice wine but it also seems disjointed and out of balance.

November 1, 2022 - started a bit spicy but mellowed out over a couple of hours. Nice flavor blend of fruit, earth, smoke and spice

October 1, 2022 - First bottle in about two years. A fair amount of bricking with brownish hues. Aromatically this has damp soil, garrigue, mothballed clothes, and incense. On the palate this attacks with a little bit of acidity that dries out rapidly from the tannin. This has managed to retain more of a finish than I would have expected given my last experience. The palate captures principally sour blackberries, lighter notes of fig, balsamic reduction, and faint notes of smoke and iodine. The smoke and iodine leave a chewy sensation with a bit of chalky bitterness lingering mouthfeel.

One bottle remaining that I note should be consumed not later than 2025. A little better than I was expecting after my prior bottle, but this wine is weary and it’s glory days are behind it.

Half the bottle to be stored overnight. Will update with day 2 notes. Day 1 - Score 89-90.

Day 2 - More of the same from Day 1 with the sour blackberries, iodine, and smoke keeping this chewy on the finish.

July 30, 2022 - Dry, tannic, chewy. Very spicy. A bit raw. Fruit doesn't fully stand up to the small barrel treatment and the 2005 tannic vintage. Still tasty, chewy, spicy, a nice kick in the teeth.

December 21, 2021 - enjoyable wine that got better the longer it was open. A little dry at first but then the fruit came through. Not sure if a lot more cellaring will improve it.

July 19, 2021 - Nicely smoky with earthy dried cherry, leather, cracked pepper and tannic notes following an acidic backbone. Drink now or in the next 1-3 years.

May 19, 2021 - SLDS May 2021: Cranberry, roses and peppery notes on the nose. Plenty of red fruit on the palate, though the alcohol shows up in the middle as well. Still maintains flow and length, feels structured though I'm not sure that I'd leave it very long term.

March 7, 2021 - Ripe dark blackberry fruit with a lot of coconut but also spices. It seems a bit sweet and the alcohol is dominating a bit which ruins the balance a bit.
Overall, a full-bodied and good wine that has a young profile.
