November 21, 2023 - Not as bad as prior reviews, yes the fruit is prominent but it is not cooked. A lot of plum notes on finish. Could be better, could be worse. Little tannins and acidity limit this wine but the fruit is clean and not jammy

September 4, 2020 - I once enjoyed AP Vin as an affordable alternative to the more expensive Sonoma Pinots. But the last several bottles have been total over-ripened fruit bombs. They resemble a dessert wine more than a pinot.

August 31, 2019 - Dark density in glass continues to nose - cherries and spice

On palate medium body, lovely acidity would probably be a little too much for drinking alone, totally consistent with nose

(relative) Bargain buy at SFO winebar

March 13, 2019 - Sadly, 2017 is the last vintage for Andrew Vingiello and his A.P. Vin label. The '17 Clos Pepe offers a bouquet of Bing cherries, dark plums, mulling spices and cocoa. Medium-bodied and somewhat sweet on the attack, it is very soft-textured by virtue of its low-to-medium acidity, seamless alcohol (14.2%), silky tannins and nicely integrated oak. Dense in the middle and medium in length on the back end, this is a pleasant Pinot that would benefit from a bit more acid. Drink now-2023.

January 23, 2019 - Wow, finally an AP that lives up to Wine Spectator's reviews. Not that greatest aroma. But it makes up for it in taste. Big fruit at first sip, gets your attention. More berries, especially raspberry finish. Clean, fresh, relaxing.
