June 16, 2022 - Showing even better than my note from 2020. This has classic Nahe aromatics of peach and flowers, and the fruit has really filled out on the palate to bring this into balance. Seems like it's drinking at peak to me. If you've been waiting, I would recommend opening a bottle to check in.

September 25, 2021 - From 75cl, perfect cork, P+P. This was sensational on opening, and deteriorated far too swiftly over the subsequent 90 minutes. At best: Slate, lime, "white fruits"; racy acidity, beautiful pure sweet balance; tingling, tense mid-palate; minerality and length on the finish. But after 30 minutes it started falling apart—went flabby and dull. Drink up. 89P(?)

February 2, 2020 - The last 18 months have really been kind to this wine. The nose now shows peach, floral notes, and maybe some raspberry, thought it speaks quietly. And the fruit has emerged on the palate! It's still a light wine, and it definitely leans a bit towards the bright side, but there's sufficient fruit density that it's achieved much better balance than earlier in its life. The finish has a pleasantly bright/nearly tannic peach skin quality. Hopefully the next months will see further positive development, and then I would expect this to be in a good place for summer drinking.

May 24, 2019 - Tasted next to a barrel sample of the 2018. Hints of evolution on the nose, less fruit driven, more herbal, mineral with hints of petrol and yellow stone fruit. On the palate very vibrant and lively, super balance and power, nice mineral core, very good length. Drink or keep. 92-94

July 23, 2018 - (at 5 - Stuttgart) Super wine. Light color. Pears soar from the nose mixed with chalk and minerals. Clean, crisp, refreshing, long, complex. Stunning for its level. Every sip reveals new nuance. I can’t imagine a better food wine. Supports, doesn’t overpower but adds. A tough thing with this very inventive (but hugely disappointing -how can this be a one star?) menu. I think this may very well be my favorite Nahe producer (neck and neck with SF at least). Wish it was easier to find in the states. (92)

July 6, 2018 - Typical Nahe qualities in the aromas, with pineapple and white peach. The palate is, frankly, challenging at the moment. The acidity just overwhelms the fruit and makes this unpleasantly tart. After getting an hour or two air and warming up from fridge temp though, the fruit fleshes out and balances things out a fair bit. Give this some time and/or plenty of air before drinking. Really needs the right food pairing at this point too.

October 8, 2017 - The German Crush Tour; 10/8/2017-10/16/2017: rather tight, a bit reductive off the bat. herbal notes move toward mineral and stone fruit. good potential but hard to gauge right now - needs a few months in the cellar.

September 6, 2017 - More green fruit on the nose, notes of yellow stone fruit, quite mineral, herbal. On the palate bright and lively, very good fruit, quite polished, but saline and fresh. Very long. 92-93+
