Community Tasting Notes 7

February 25, 2022 - Sweet pipe tobacco and leather nose with some balsamic-raspberry notes, quite earthy/rustic, some salinity and a bit disjointed tasting but pleasant with food nonetheless, including homemade French onion soup when it showed its best. Tannins are dry but not overly rough, maybe another year or 2 of life but would't think too hard about it.

June 26, 2021 - Similar to last tasting note. Still drinking very well on short decant (virtually no sediment). Excellent overall.

January 29, 2021 - Similar to last tasting. Went well with roast chicken.

May 23, 2020 - Pop and pour. Excellent Beaujolais with good concentration and richness for gamay. Subtle secondary elements add elegance and complexity. Good match with simply grilled salmon.

March 12, 2020 - Medium garnet colour, shows signs of age
Some rotting wet leaves aromas (in a good way!) and tertiary notes, as well as typical Beaujolais aromas
Seems like a yeast-driven fermentation rather than semi-carbonic maceration. A serious rather than playful wine.
This is a very pretty and gentle Beaujolais. Medium- tannins and medium body
Would have difficulty standing up to many food pairings due to its prettiness
An unusually good Beaujolais, but quite expensive for the category
