November 19, 2020 - Needs a decant. Still grippy tannin initially but not harsh. Very nice fruit which integrates well with the tannin. Flavors of cassis, graphite, some oak/caramel early which dissipates over time. Whats amazing is the sillky texture and amazingly long finish. This wine is still young but is enjoyable now. Its worth opening a bottle now to enjot the texture and amazing finish

November 17, 2020 - Per usual closed as hell on PnP but effortlessly smooth - the flavor profile never really came around, some darker fruit and a touch of char, 2 days in and still waiting. I’m frustrated because I’ve had some spectacular Arkenstone, but 2 misses recently are really putting a negative spin on things. This is the second recent 2015 vintage I’ve had (not just Arkenstone - recently with an Altamura that was definitely more open, but just not together yet) so I’m wondering if these are starting some hibernation. Maybe time to use that Coravin instead of drinking the whole bottle in 2 days . . . 92 at the moment, just didn't have enough fruit.

May 31, 2020 - Opened to breathe for 2h for a delightful family bbq. Lovely cedar, alcohol, and black pepper on the nose. On the palate, layered blackberries, black cherries, milk chocolate, hints of tannins, black pepper in the long finish. Just wow. Tonight with smoky grilled ribeye and mashed potatoes. Mom *loved* it, almost as much as Quintarelli Amarone. 93/94

May 16, 2020 - well-integrated even at this point, blueberry compote - mountain fruit all the way and awesome - decanted over hours; this was against a 2016 Memento Mori and the MM couldn’t keep up. Maybe half a decade or so down the road, but Mountain fruit WOTN.

April 30, 2020 - Stunning! Drank as I attended an Arkenstone virtual tasting with Susan and Jake Krause and Sam Kaplan. From the first sip it was amazing. Based on other CT reviews, I chose not to decant, simply allowing it to slow ox. Never faulted over 3 hours. Gorgeous body, fruit and amazing notes of chalky dust, coffee and chocolate. This was balanced with a long finish. The tannins were fine and the acidity supportive without dominating. Awesome! Bought 3 more while tasting!!
